Studies have indicated that a combined of 93% of our communications (55% gestures by hands etc and eye contact and 38% by the tone and other variations of the voice) is non-verbal. Do you think we can be trained in such subconscious gestures such that we can communicate more effectively?
………………… Food for thought………………………?????????????
Shantanu,
the percentage figures sound gr8.
My brain says, the way we communicate, happens more on a subconscious note.
Yes offcourse, we can try to learn to communicate more effectively.
It all needs is proper guidance & simultaneous practice.
see thats the point… if we can conert subconsious to consious mind then we can uderstand what are we communicating and we can improve it (or so that is what i want to believe)….
apart from what you say abot guidence and practice i feel first step is realization of this fact that non-verbal communication is more effective than verbal communication and then comes more about what you think…………
as per my study we use only 10% of our subconscious mind. our mind has lot of power, if we get proper way to utilize it then we can do anything which we want. I think ‘meditation’ is best way it improves our ability, improves our confidence which plays major role for our non verbal communication
Hi Shreyas, what you say is one of the many ways to improve/use the power of our brain.
there are very many ways to achieve it, but one has to choose a comforting method for oneself. and that is what is a challenge most of the times.
Motivation:
MBA teaches us a lot of things, one of the most intriguing things that i find is “Motivation”. Not just as a manager, entrepreneur, in any level of an organisation one needs to be motivated and as one managing a team one needs to keep the team motivated. Now that is a question, if the team were small one can understand each team member’s drive. But as then team becomes larger in size then comes the real problem, it becomes even larger when you are at the top of the organisation overseeing all the aspects of the organisation. There are lots of theories but what’s the practice? How does one keep everyone motivated such that the team heads to achieve the organisational goals?
